The Pokhara region is one of Nepal’s growing tourism destinations and requires a hospitality sector capable of combining environmental and economic sustainability. Together with Swisscontact Nepal, SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern is establishing a two-tier training system for the region. The Sustainable Business Management & Leadership programme is designed for hotel owners and General Managers, while Green Skills in Jobs in Hospitality is aimed at operational employees in F&B, Housekeeping and Front Office. Through Train-the-Trainer programmes in Pokhara, knowledge and expertise are transferred to local trainers, ensuring that they remain embedded in the market over the long term. Remote coaching and structured quality assurance support the locally delivered training programmes throughout the project.
